Cake Poker is a fairly new addition to the online poker world. The room entered the market in 2005 and has experienced a moderate growth since. The room is part of a small network that has software that is similar to that of the OnGame network with rooms like Hollywood Poker. The room has not been very big into advertising, and so has never really seen a big influx of players.
Cake Poker has gone out of its way to try and provide a realistic atmosphere for its customers to play in. The avatars are of photographed models, including the dealer, which will sit in the seat and represent you as you play. Although the models are a little fuzzy, it is one step ahead of having very cartoon-like avatars in the seats to represent you. This real-life feeling helps to make you concentrate and realise that real money is often at stake. |

The room offers a 100% match bonus up to $500 for all new depositing players. Collecting FPPs, which can be obtained by generating rake through cash game and tournament play, can redeem the bonus. Furthermore, FPPs can be collected to earn ‘gold chips’ which can be used to enter tournaments or can be used to purchase items from the Cake Poker store. It becomes easier and easier to earn the gold chips the more you get in the same calendar month. Therefore the second chip is easier to earn than the first, the third easier than the second and so on. |

Cake Poker has a great table design with life like avatars to represent you whilst you are seated at the table. The action also runs very smoothly and there are no bugs or glitches to report with the software whilst it is running. The poker client also downloads very quickly and it is very simple to install. The lobby however is a little cluttered, which makes it difficult when it comes to finding a table to suit your needs. This, when mixed with the fact that there is a poor player volume anyway, does not make for an enjoyable experience when trying to find a god table. |

Cake Poker offer Texas Holdem, Stud and Omaha.
The only way to contact Cake Poker is via email, which usually has a decent response time. The customer support department could be greatly improved with the addition of a live chat and phone service. |

The area that Cake Poker is seriously lacking in is traffic. The room is relatively new and so does not excel when it comes to having a great player volume. Over time with the help of advertising campaigns the room should be able to do well, but for the time being it is near the bottom of the pile when it comes to attracting new players to the room have having a good player traffic. |
